Effective Wednesday, November 1, DART Paratransit's Bus Plus program is now offering a new Premium Service Zone, which extends the Bus Plus coverage area to include the full boundaries of each of DART's member communities. The Premium Service Zone trips are non-Medicaid only and cost a premium fare of $30 per trip. The Base Service Zone will remain as-is, at a cost of $3.50 per trip. Additionally, approved Bus Plus riders now have free access to ride on DART’s Fixed Route services.

The end of January marks a major milestone for Des Moines Area Regional Transit (DART). After 14 years of service, including 11 years as CEO, Elizabeth Presutti is leaving DART to join her husband who recently accepted a position at Collins Aerospace at their manufacturing facility in Monroe, North Carolina just outside of Charlotte.
Thank you to the riders who shared their feedback in response to major service changes anticipated to take place in West Des Moines and north Des Moines during summer 2023. Please look for additional information to be shared in spring 2023 prior to the service changes.

DART will host two upcoming meetings on Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, to share potential changes to our Bus Plus ADA Paratransit service. Both meetings will last approximately 90 minutes and will be held in the Multimodal Room on the second floor of DART Central Station (620 Cherry Street, Des Moines). Both meetings will contain the same information, so you are encouraged to choose one to attend. Attendees can join the meetings virtually by using the links below to access Zoom login information.

DART will be holding a job fair at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Middway on November 2nd from 2 - 6 p.m. and November 3rd from 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. This fair will allow potential drivers to get to handle a 40-foot-long passenger bus and smaller paratransit bus around a closed course. Job-seekers will have the opportunity to get the feel of driving a bus and connect with DART Human Resources about beginning a new career.
